A Newark Catalyst

Newark Urby Exterior

Opening our doors to the public for the first time in the fall of 2022, Newark Urby was officially welcomed to Newark’s growing skyline. Teaming up with LMXD, a newly formed affiliate of L+M Development Partners, Newark Urby now stands 16-stories tall and is home to over 335 residents.

Originally an Art Deco parking garage from the 1920’s, rather than demolishing the existing 18-story tower at 155 Washington Street, Urby and LMXD opted to repurpose the structure. Conserving key elements of its history, Newark Urby preserves original design features that give residents a unique blend of 1920’s architectural charm, while sprinkling in contemporary finishes and functionality.

Newark Urby offers a wide array of unit types from studio to three-bedroom apartments. All apartments feature bright and airy floor plans, closets with built-in storage, wood floors, upscale kitchen finishes and even an in-unit washer and dryer.

Large windows maximize natural light and provide panoramic views of Downtown Newark and beyond. With smart technology systems, including Latch keyless smart phone entry and Amazon package lockers, residents at Newark have high-tech conveniences at their fingertips. “Urby has reimagined urban living through intuitive design and commitment to community. Our units are smartly designed with a focus on natural light and flow,” said Barry.

Furthermore the addition of Kinjo, Urby’s newest restaurant collaboration, gives residents a modern Japanese dining experience conveniently located just a quick elevator ride downstairs. "Newark Urby offers an unparalleled living experience, from its innovative design to high quality finishes and top-flight amenities," said Sam Chapin, Managing Director at LMXD.
